The Catfish Place Restaurant Review:

Opened by native Floridians, The Catfish Place is the spot for Florida Cracker seafood. (Cracker is a nickname for Florida's original settlers.) Travel down busy U.S. Hwy. 192, past the Silver Spurs rodeo grounds, to sleepy St. Cloud, and you'll spot the eatery in a nondescript brown building right on the main drag. Start with a cup of the seafood gumbo and some fried green tomatoes to share. For the main event, most of the locals go for the fresh, all-you-can-eat fried catfish, but we like the Florida Cracker Special, which includes catfish, frogs’ legs, turtle and gator tail. We also recommend the crisp fried shrimp and oysters. As for side dishes, the grits, homemade coleslaw and hush puppies are winners. Wash it all down with a sweet iced tea or a cold beer, and the waitress will think you're a regular.
