Claire's Corner Copia Restaurant Review:

Since 1975, Claire's has been a New Haven, well, haven for health-food aficionados, offering up a cornucopia of fresh, vegetarian fare. But even the most rabid carnivores are lured by the bright, flavorful dishes created by registered nurse turned chef-owner Claire Criscuolo and her team. Who wouldn't be tempted by the line-up of pies, cookies and cakes baked fresh every day? The Lithuanian coffee cake alone is worth the trip. Claire's also feeds breakfast to sleepily grateful college kids all day, as well as good soups, pita sandwiches and big leafy salads that contain locally grown, sustainable, organic products whenever possible. But wait, there's more: Mexican, Italian and Middle Eastern favorites round out the eclectic menu, from flatbread pizzas and burritos to falafel. Fruit smoothies are fortified with wheat germ and honey for no additional fee. Prices are student-friendly, as is the service, which can be a bit too easygoing at times, but at least their attitude is in keeping with the Bohemian vibe. Order at the counter, and remember to recycle when you clear your table.
