The Coronet Restaurant Review:

The Coronet’s Fourth Avenue location may seem a bit odd, but this tiny café is a sophisticated and lively dining spot. The interior has fine touches, like specially designed floor tiles and a sleek retro bar. There are only a few tables inside, so consider eating on the patio where you can watch the modern street car clang by or observe the Fourth Avenue/downtown hipsters mingle. There are several menus --- afternoon, evening, a daily prix-fixe, happy hour, weekend brunch, desserts and drinks --- and the sections are labeled with affected titles like “nibbles” and “drinkies.” But don’t let that bother you. We like the shakshuka, a Middle Eastern baked egg dish that will have you sopping up every last bite, as well as the seasonal tartines. In the evening, you’ll find lemon sardines, a walnut-feta pâté or paprika mushrooms. Entrées range from Jacques’ Magic Beans mixed with mushrooms and tomatoes, to Session Sausage made with a local brew and served with cauliflower mash. Desserts are all made in-house, and like the rest of the items are unusual and well-done. Try the upside-down polenta cake. A bottle of wine or one of the house cocktails make your meal complete.
