Crow's Nest Restaurant Restaurant Review:

Survey the city, the mountains, and the Cook Inlet from this aerie atop the tallest tower of the Hotel Captain Cook. The brass and teak fittings recall days of yore aboard Captain Cook’s ships, but accent a much more elegant and comfortable setting. Wine connoisseurs will delight in choosing from the 10,000-bottle wine cellar to find appropriate pairings for chef Gary Murphy Jr.’s menu that blends New American and French cuisine. Dinner choices are as tempting as the wine list. We recommend the ahi poke, accented with ginger and sesame, and the bouillabaisse, a richly flavored mélange of seasonal fish, scallops, shrimp, mussels, clams and fingerling potatoes. Bering Sea king crab legs are another treat, to dredge through drawn butter. Carnivores will also find duck, steak and lamb entrées. Desserts range from simple sorbets to a decadent chocolate layer cake. In summer, locals and visitors head here to end an evening out, a good destination given the later operating hours.
