THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED DBGB Kitchen & Bar Restaurant Review:
Celebrity chef Daniel Boulud’s cutting-edge restaurant is located in the elegant CityCenterDC. It’s as upscale as its outdoors setting, with shelves filled with witty chef-painted plates and stacks of Boulud’s cookbook. But most guests focus on the menu, which varies between lunch and dinner and between one visit and the next. If available, try the pâté de campagne appetizer or the foie gras terrine at lunchtime; they also appear at dinner. Equally pleasing to start are the very crispy calamari and the charcuterie with its assorted breads, meats and spreads. Entrées include several salads, such as the abundant seafood platter featuring shrimp and calamari; sausages like the boudin blanc made with truffles; the DBGB BLT; one or two meat and fish selections; and lasagna. Mains at dinner range from a simple selection of sausages to the more robust coq au vin, roasted lamb, and roasted duck breast. For dessert, the fig tart may be a seasonal must, but the real star among the sweets is DBGB’s baked Alaska. Ask the sommelier to recommend one or many different wines to accompany your meal.
