Deanie's Seafood Restaurant Review:

Seafood is found all over New Orleans, but one place is synonymous with classic Southern fried seafood, and that's Deanie’s. It's one of several local joints that excel in fried seafood and ice cold beer. The very first seafood market in Bucktown, once a quaint fishing village just outside New Orleans, Deanie’s is a haven for fried oysters, shrimp and crab. Dishes include po' boys, platters and salads decked with still more fried seafood. Finish off your meal with a coconut custard pudding or a nectar soda float with vanilla ice cream. Squealing babies and catch-as-catch-can service come with dinner, but where else does the server approach the table with a bowl of hot and spicy boiled potatoes, even before you order your drink? Also located in the French Quarter, 841 Iberville St. (Dauphine St.), 504-581-1316.
