Amidst the Ferry Building's army of artisan cheeses, breads and olive oils is a rare gem: a quirky Japanese deli with ever-shifting, tradition-tweaking offerings that include roast beef sushi, seaweed-crowned tofu-chicken patties, freshly fried Kobe-style croquettes, pick-and-mix bento boxes, crispy kakiage tempura and nutritious edamame-spiked "mamestrone" soup. An expansive, modern deli case surrounds a bustling open kitchen; a sleek eating area, accented by blonde wood and stainless steel, features a bay view, with patio tables available on warm days.
