Eurasia Cafe & Wine Bar Restaurant Review:

Asian influences dot the menu, seen in the hot-and-sour soup, edamame, and Chinese vegetable spring rolls. But amidst the appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrées on the same menu for both lunch and dinner, you’re more likely to come across a maple-brined turkey Cobb wrap, steak frites or sautéed shrimp and Gouda grits. That’s because the restaurant’s name is a carryover from the prior occupant. So while there is some continental drift, Eurasia’s cooking is most distinguished by a fresh, flavorful style and local and organic products, evident in the Off the Hook “Rockafella” (daily catch topped with fried oysters, spinach creamed with Fontina, and smokehouse bacon). Dessert could be ice cream (lemon basil and salted caramel habanero have been among scoops), buttermilk chess pie or a definitive carrot cake. Because the café incorporates a wine shop, there’s a nice, soothing space up front where some regulars start the evening with a pre-prandial at tables amidst attractive wine racks, and the wine list expands to any of the 450 bottles they hold for a nominal corkage fee.
