Farmshop Restaurant Review:

Jeff Cerciello, former culinary director of Thomas Keller's Bouchon, Bouchon Bakery and ad hoc, is behind this artisan restaurant in the rustic, chic Brentwood Country Mart. Thus, it's no surprise that the quality of the baked goods is high --- with prices to match (this is Brentwood after all, even if the setting is decidedly casual). Breakfast options range from a “rolled omelet” with fried potatoes and toasted croissant to smoked fish, farmer’s cheese and heirloom beets, while lunch brings a poached chicken salad and steak sandwich and fries. Finish with the likes of a pistachio-almond tart with Sicilian pistachio cream or Earl Grey tea and chocolate custard with spiced pecans. Brunch may begin with granola and progress to the frittata (cherry wood-smoked bacon, onions, ricotta and broccoli di ciccio). Farmshop also has a convenient market offering artisanal cheeses, olive oils, wine and more.
