Fat Pasha Restaurant Review:

Fat Pasha offers Middle Eastern and Jewish cuisine in The Annex area of Toronto. At brunch or lunch, expect to order plates individually, like Reuben sandwiches with sauerkraut, or shakshuka, a dish with poached eggs in a chunky tomato-pepper sauce. For dinner, dishes are served family-style. Don’t miss out on the salatim, which includes up to seven dips with warm pita. Each dip is varied in taste and texture; the beetroot relish is sweet with crunchy nuts on top, while the labneh is a creamy, thick, garlicky yogurt. The roasted head of cauliflower is drizzled with tahini and coated in pine nuts. Jewish fare extends to latkas, which are cooked in schmaltz and served with beet-cured salmon, sturgeon and smoked salmon. Fat Pasha has a small but varied list of red and white wines from the U.S., Canada and Europe. Try one of the signature cocktails, like honey bee-t with lavender honey, beet Plymouth gin, sumac and lime. A small array of arak, clear anise-flavored beverages, is also available.
