Galley (at Fish King) Restaurant Review:
Galley is the fast-food arm of Fish King, one of Southern California's most acclaimed fish markets, fastidiously run by the same accommodating family for nearly half a century. In fact, it was one of the first of its kind to coat and fry in panko breadcrumbs. Some of the best restaurants in town receive their fish from this market, and the selection is eye-popping. Galley offers deep-fried or charbroiled trout and swordfish, teriyaki salmon, fried oysters or scallops, crab salad, mac ‘n’ cheese with chunks of ham, a killer lobster bisque, and a better spicy tuna roll than nearly any sushi bar in town --- all for a song. There's a deli case filled with tasty accompaniments like salmon quiche, seafood lasagna, turkey potpie, and Chinese chicken salad, though most items are made to order, so it's best to call ahead if you're in a hurry.
