Hudson Jane Restaurant Review:

About the décor & atmosphere: This all-day restaurant’s ample windows capture the scene outside on the bustling corner of Myrtle Avenue and Adelphi Street in Fort Greene. When the weather permits, outdoor tables allow for prime people watching. The bright, spacious and casual place is a comfortable spot to linger over an espresso in the morning or a glass of rosé in the evening.

Likes: Friendly vibe; attractive space; “chips” and guac; apple cobbler.
Dislikes: Wine list only; gets busy for brunch.

Food & Drinks: The low-key yet consistently satisfying food caters to vegans and carnivores alike. For the former, there’s a vegan breakfast burrito with white beans and salsa roja, and for lunch and dinner, tacos stuffed with oyster mushrooms so rich they almost taste meaty. If you’re looking for actual meat, a grass-fed cheeseburger on Bien Cuit chive bread hits the spot. Start with “chips” and guac, where the chips in question are crispy, fatty shards of chicken skin that will make you question why this dish isn’t on menus anywhere. Salads and egg sandwiches to-go are also on offer. Crumbly apple cobbler comes with a little dish of sweet cream and a bubbling fruit center. A terse wine list features some unexpected bottles, including orange wine and a crisp Spanish rosé.
