Le Lapin Saute Restaurant Review:

Enter Le Lapin Sauté and experience a typical family-friendly French-Canadian setting from the last century, complete with a crisply burning fireplace. Soothing ballads from French singer Charles Aznavour add European style, as do seats reminiscent of those found in Parisian cafés. Nestled in the Petit Champlain district, the restaurant prides itself on rabbit, but also serves duck, lamb and salmon. Appetizers include homemade rabbit rillettes, foie gras, poutine and warm goat cheese salad with grilled almonds, honey and a raspberry vinaigrette. Vegetarians be warned: almost every dish contains rabbit, but if you want to go wild about the theme, order the all rabbit and duck sharing platter with confit thighs of each, rabbit pâté, duck breast and foie gras. Even the potatoes are cooked in duck fat. Hazelnut bread, salad and pickles round out the meal. For dessert, try the maple syrup crème brûlée. The wine selection includes European, South American, U.S. and French varietals. There are two dozen private imports.
