About the restaurant: With a change of ownership and kitchen staff, Old Town’s The Majestic (also known as The Majestic Café) maintains its popularity, requiring reservations if you hope to grab a seat.
Food & Drinks: What keeps it on the front page of foodies’ agenda is not only the historic setting but the lively menu. For example, the dish called “red hot peanut pork candy” is a sweetened roasted pork belly with crunchy peanuts. If you are a pork lover, order two portions and call it a day. Other lunchtime musts include the Majestic burger, the braised short rib sandwich, and a fresh salmon filet sandwich, the salmon BALT (bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato). The dinner menu has many of the same appetizers (the pork belly creation), but its entrées include lamb chops, Chesapeake Bay stew, and shrimp and Carolina grits. Dessert choices include a coconut layer cake, Key lime pie, chocolate cake and cheesecake. Check out the robust wine and cocktail selections to pair with your meal.
