Texas barbecue in Brooklyn; brisket, ribs and turkey are smoked overnight until juicy.

Morgan's Barbecue Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Morgan’s Barbecue on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, near the Barclay Center, has the fun, laid-back vibe you might expect of a barbecue joint --- paper plates, loud music, Texas flags and a bar that gets busy. There’s outdoor seating when the weather permits.

Likes: Turkey, brisket, craft beers.
Dislikes: Can be long waits.

Food & Drinks: The restaurant smokes its meats overnight. Meat is served by the quarter pound, and it’s definitely the star of the show. Smoked turkey is hardly a barbecue staple, but the juicy meat holds its own next to the lineup of brisket, ribs and pulled pork. Choose from lean or fatty brisket; both are standouts, with a smoky, spicy kick and caramelization, and it’s also available in taco form. Pork ribs are tender. It’s good there’s a roll of paper towels at the table; they’ll certainly come in handy. Sides are satisfying if not extraordinary: mac and cheese, and crispy coleslaw without too much vinegar. Expect craft beers on tap. Tart Key lime pie comes topped with a mountain of house-made whipped cream.
