Morton's The Steakhouse Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: This branch of the famous Chicago-based beef chain is located downtown, making it an ideal spot for business meetings and dinners. Yet it sees a good deal of romance-focused dining. Waiters brandishing trays filled with raw beef, lamb, veal and seafood zoom effortlessly through the space. The usual men's club atmosphere prevails---lots of wood, soft lighting, deep banquettes and a cigar-friendly attitude. So does the usual men's club crowd: businessmen and women, with out-of-towners seeking a familiar menu with few surprises.
Food & Drinks: Everything is à la carte. We like the butter-tender double filet mignon with béarnaise. Great sides include the sautéed wild mushrooms, fat steamed asparagus and the badger-sized baked potatoes. You’ll also find salmon and fish of the day, crab cakes, lobster and lobster tails. Delve into the deep wine list, and you'll find more than 150 red wines to go with that slab of meat. If you factor in the white wines and Champagnes, there are more than 200 selections, with some 20 offered by the glass. Despite multiple locations across the country, there's nothing that screams "chain" in this link.
