Nelson's Restaurant Review:

A fun, dog-friendly atmosphere and sweeping ocean views from the patio draw people to Nelson’s. This casual dining spot at Terranea Resort was built on the site of the water treatment facility for the former aquatic park Marineland of the Pacific, which was also used as a filming location for several films and TV shows, such as "Sea Hunt" in the late 1950s. (The restaurant's name pays tribute to Mike Nelson, the character portrayed by Lloyd Bridges in that series.) Dig into crab cake sliders with arugula and Cajun rémoulade or a slow-roasted barbecue pork sandwich with onions, house-made pickles and coleslaw. The Bait ‘N Switch section offers guests their choice of fish, sauce, preparation and side for a customizable meal. You can also order classic seafood items like cioppino and fish ‘n’ chips. End your meal with the Nutella ice cream bar. Complementing the menu is a selection of California wines, microbrewed beers on draft and specialty cocktails.
