Olympia Kebob House & Taverna Restaurant Review:

To see what sets this family-run restaurant apart, take a peek at the dessert menu first. House-baked cookies --- cinnamon-almond paximathia, sugar-coated kourambiethes and phyllo-wrapped custardy galaktoboureko --- are reason enough to visit. Appetizers are wide-ranging, from olives to calamari, though many patrons opt for the irresistible glow of flaming saganaki. Kebabs are available in beef, lamb or chicken varieties, with the traditional Greek restaurant tendency to cook everything until it's really done. Equally traditional are the entrées of moussaka and pastitsio, ground beef layered with potatoes in the former and macaroni in the latter. Wash it all down with passable wine by the glass or something from the good selection of beers. Best of all, though, is the thick Greek coffee. Patience is a virtue, as the customer mix of families, boisterous birthday revelers and college kids out for a budget-friendly taste of the exotic can tax servers.
