Oscar's Steakhouse Restaurant Review:

Like the Vegas personality for which it’s named, Oscar’s “Beef, Booze, Broads” slogan makes no attempt to be politically correct. Former Mayor Oscar Goodman doesn’t own or manage the restaurant, but his imprint is unmistakable. The wall in the entryway is filled with photos and articles documenting his decades of work as a mob lawyer and his 12-year tenure as mayor. Don’t be surprised to see him strolling by with a martini in hand. Another nod to Goodman’s past is the servers’ attire of mob-inspired striped shirts with white ties. Located inside the iconic dome of the Plaza Hotel & Casino, Oscar’s expansive windows provide a straight-ahead view of the Fremont Street Experience light show. Try the crab cake of lump crab meat with nearly no filler, or the seafood platter loaded with jumbo shrimp, Louisiana oysters, mussels, crab and lobster. Steaks are wet-aged for 28 days, and some have colorful names further testifying to Goodman’s past, like the spicy flame-charred "Spilotro" steak, or "Joey C’s" filet mignon. “Over the top” options include “Oscar,” a topping of lump crab, asparagus and béarnaise sauce. We recommend a side of the garlic-smashed potatoes. Finish with the tiramisu.
