Pêche Seafood Grill Restaurant Review:

Donald Link and Stephen Stryjewski need no introduction to New Orleanians who have long been loyal to their other restaurants, Cochon and Herbsaint. They opened Pêche Seafood Grill with chef/partner Ryan Prewitt. The fully rustic yet contemporary interior features exposed wood beams and huge windows overlooking busy Magazine Street. Those in search of whole fish cooked over an open wood-fired grill need look no further than this renovated 19th-century structure, also featuring a full seafood bar, spacious cocktail area and an open kitchen. You'll find the most authentic Cajun gumbo around, and small plates as straightforward as grilled lamb skewers with cucumber salad or catfish with pickled greens. Uncomplicated fish entrées change daily, and side items are strictly "comfortable," including Brussels sprouts in chili vinaigrette and white beans with bacon. A smartly conceived wine-by-the-glass menu allows diners to pair wines with each course. Desserts are big and rich: salted caramel cake with caramel buttercream. Service is professional and appropriately attentive.
