Pierre's Restaurant Review:

In a colonial mansion at the end of a pebble driveway, Pierre’s is the fine dining component of the waterfront Morada Bay complex. Inside, teak floors and ceilings and vintage teak furnishings in the upstairs dining room are accented by white linen, British colonial artifacts and, at night, candlelight --- a most elegant venue that seems set in another time. Some dishes are rooted in old-world haute cuisine: filet mignon with veal demi and béarnaise sauce; richly creamed oysters Rockefeller. But the eclectic menu also contains contemporary items with influences from the South (Cajun lobster bisque) and the immediate surroundings (Key lime pickled shrimp). And while the cooking techniques may be strongly French, the prime ingredients are sourced from near and far, whether for Florida Keys hogfish meunière, lemon butter-poached Maine lobster, or a daily preparation of foie gras. The wine list offers a comprehensive selection from France (emphasis on Bordeaux and Burgundy) and America (focused on the West Coast).
