THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED POT Restaurant Review:

Housed in K-Town hotel The Line Los Angeles, POT features the modern Korean food stylings of chef Roy Choi (Kogi Korean BBQ-To-Go, Chego, A-Frame). The restaurant is tucked away behind the huge lobby area and POT Bar. (Meanwhile, the nearby Cafe serves up sweets, sandwiches, espresso drinks and tea.) The large, square space is clean and modern; metallic chairs bring an almost clinical feel. In addition to tables, there is seating around a counter with a view to some of the kitchen prep. Diners are brought complimentary banchan (sides of pickled vegetables) and cold barley tea served in metal cups. Open up the newsprint menu and select from hotpots (available in individual portions or family-style sizes for groups of two, four or six), “Other Things” (spicy grilled squid, dumplings, noodles of the day) or “Other Other Things” (small sides of steamed egg or fresh baby anchovy with fish cakes and jalapeño). The hotpots, which are kept hot by induction burners fitted onto the tables, come in variations like “Dak Dak Dak,” comprising spicy chicken, onions, peppers and herbs, and “Boot Knocker,” a version of budae jjigae (“army stew”) made with tofu, instant ramen, canned meats like Spam, rice cakes, fish cakes and chili paste. There is a limited wine list plus draft beers (including Hite), sake and soju cocktails. Guests are attended to by a young, energetic and serviceable staff.
