Primrose Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant & décor: Located between the lobby and pool of Park MGM, Primrose has three environments meant to evoke the residential feel of a country house: outdoor terrace and garden bedecked with trees and greenery; drawing room with comfortable couches and wingback chairs; and bright and cheery main dining room with artwork by French impressionists.
Likes: While food is only served from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. the bar and lounge is open till 9 p.m. serving a partial food menu.
Dislikes: The majority of the tables in the drawing room are rather small and extend from the seating a bit too high for comfortable dining, so if this is an issue, ask to be seated outside or in the main dining room.
Food & Drinks: Starters we recommend include the garden fries --- fried pickled green and white beans with hot peppers; a Mediterranean plate with avocado, tomato, cucumber, hard-boiled egg, feta and yogurt; and fried chicken Provençal, boneless bites with herbes de Provence and spring onion aïoli. A hearty, satisfying entrée is the filet mignon and frites with mushrooms, bone marrow duxelles and bordelaise. Desserts include a jazzed-up classic: banana split with caramelized banana, peanuts, caramel and chocolate sauces, sprinkles and vanilla ice cream. Breakfast items include a smoked salmon bagel with smoked crème fraîche, and a bacon, egg and cheese croissant. Among lunch specialties is a French onion cheeseburger with Gruyère and caramelized onions. The drinks menu lists the whimsical-named My Fair Lady with Herradura Blanco, Bols yogurt, cucumber, lemon and honey; wines by the glass; and craft brews such as Mikkeller Rose Blush Raspberry Sour.
