Raconteur Restaurant Review:

Seattle’s intellectual side finds a way to embrace its craft-beer-loving food-fanatic population in this business-within-a-business. The sprawling space encompasses a coffee bar and sit-down restaurant on the main floor, with bright white-tiled accents and blonde wood everywhere. Broad stairs lead down to the darker basement bar, where darts games and TVs hang over the darker décor. The menu in both areas winks at pub classics from a chef’s kitchen --- the grown-up grilled cheese has slow-roasted tomatoes and herbed butter, the fried chicken comes on a brioche bun and the drive-in burger arrives in its own custom burger bag. Local beers dominate the tap list, but there’s wine on that tap as well (in keeping with the simple, local-focused nature of the rest of the wine list). Finish off with one of the desserts that are made in-house (beware, not all are), such as the ice cream or rummy tiramisu.
