Red's Table Restaurant Review:
Replacing Reston’s iconic Lakeside Inn, which was actually situated overlooking Lake Thoreau, Red’s Table takes up the challenge to bring back notable food served in a casual setting. Locals flock here, certainly midday, and settle down with the pub-style menu. Starters consist of assorted seafood dishes, such as Gulf shrimp steamed with Old Bay seasoning. But why not opt for the clam chowder --- a cup will do it --- before having an entrée salad or one of the sandwiches? You can go all-veg with a mushroom and rolled-oat burger, or order the real thing of dry-aged beef with grilled onions and pickles. Dinner offers much the same in the way of starters, but then presents entrées like dry-aged steak and a hearty cioppino. Check out the drinks list, replete with interesting cocktails and locally sourced beers and ales.
