Montreal’s Old Town is a lovers’ paradise. The cobblestone alleys, the narrow, winding streets, the charming storefronts and the horse-drawn carriages create an unmatched atmosphere. Restaurants line the streets, each trying to appeal to tourists from the world over to take this walk through the past. Among these establishments, a few gems stand out, such as Restaurant Bonaparte. Ambience reigns, with the stone walls, wooden beams, royal curtains and soft light creating a genuine warmth and comfort. The food is consistently satisfying without being overpriced: lobster bisque with anise, foie gras, swordfish with dried tomatoes and rabbit with fresh herbs. A topnotch wine list complements the food. Couples occupy many of the tables here. Very romantic.
