Ria's Bluebird Restaurant Review:

Serving breakfast all day, Ria’s also offers lunch and closes at 3 p.m. But we advise going early, as the lines can get long on weekends and some items are apt to run out, such as the grits. Usually, we can get our eggs softly poached (although sometimes the kitchen will overshoot the mark) and perch them atop the good grits with spicy cream gravy. House-made sausage will come too cooked, in our view, and we’re not crazy about the overly fluffy biscuits. Those who prefer home fries with their eggs will like these, and the grilled sweet potato cake is a lovely alternative. Pancakes are topnotch. House-made jams are always on the table and are worth the calories. Inventive sandwiches --- how ’bout a Reuben made from tempeh? --- can be paired with a side salad. Homemade soups are first-rate, and each day features a different hot lunch special. There are soy-based dishes, such as country-fried tempeh with tomato gravy, and a “soysage” patty may be subbed for the real stuff. Fair trade coffee is from Batdorf & Bronson.
