Serendipity 3 Restaurant Review:
Mostly known for its fanciful desserts, this charming hodgepodge---think part general store, part ice cream parlor, and part casual restaurant---has been a favorite hangout for over two decades, for both locals and celebrities. The young waiters are all bright eyes and smiles, and the white-on-white décor with its marble tables and cane-backed chairs confirm your impression that you've just entered a Victorian sugarplum fantasy. As for the menu, there are better-than-average burgers (if you’re in the mood for a splurge, try the Caviar Burger with sour cream and cucumber slices), omelets and salads---but most regulars come for the colossal sundaes and banana splits. There are some good iced drinks too, such as the meal-size, oxymoronic frozen hot chocolate.
