THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Spoonfed Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Spoonfed is a venture from Sean Loeffel, who decided to strike out on his own after serving as general manager for years at various establishments. Spoonfed, a play on words with his last name ("spoon" in German), is a from-scratch creation between four walls and a cement slab in the southern, quieter part of Hollywood. Pass through the wood door, ornamented with a huge wood spoon specially designed for Loeffel by his brother-in-law, and discover a huge patio anchored by a large English Oak tree. The area has been designed and decorated to feel like a home backyard. Enter the restaurant to order at the beautiful white marble and long counter, where you can see salads and yummy cakes. Looking at the décor, it is easy to understand that Loeffel is very detail oriented.

Likes: Ample street parking. Open seven days a week from 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Grab-and-go options and catering available. Free filtered flat and sparkling water at a fountain.
Dislikes: Far for those of us who don’t live in Hollywood.

Food & Drinks: It's an all-day dining affair here, with breakfast kicking off with pineapple lemon ricotta pancakes, avocado toast with poached eggs, steak and eggs, chia parfait, tacos and (why not?) flatbreads. Late risers need not fret since breakfast is available until 4 p.m. Lunch and dinner starts at 10 a.m. Items include salads, more flatbreads, sandwiches and soups, along with a Chicago-style hot dog and Italian beef sandwich --- nods to Loeffel's childhood in the Windy City. If you are craving a burger, don’t hesitate to order Spoonfed's version with grilled Angus beef, Gruyère, blue cheese, bacon balsamic caramelized onions, heirloom tomato, house pickles, butter lettuce and aïoli on a potato bun. You can substitute the beef with chicken. Meat-lovers will like the "Don't Cry for Me Argentinean Steak Salad" prepared with marinated skirt steak, avocado, tomato, red onion, Persian cucumber and house-made chimichurri vinaigrette. Vegans can indulge in the smoked eggplant sandwich made with grilled cold-smoked eggplant, broccoli sprouts, heirloom tomato and pickled red onions, served on grilled whole grain bread. Gluten-free and vegan options are clearly marked on the menu. If you have a sweet tooth inclination, the cake window might drive you crazy… Drinks include kombucha.
