Ted Peter's Famous Smoked Fish Restaurant Review:

Just follow your nose as you drive down Pasadena Avenue. The aroma of smoked fish is a beacon to one of the best venues for casual seafood in town, a purveyor of smoked mullet, smoked salmon and smoked mackerel on the west coast of Florida since 1951. Mackerel sells the most, perhaps because it comes with the fewest bones and a mild flavor. Smoked mullet is for hardcore Florida residents used to the distinct flavor, suggests the owner. His smoked fish spread, however, is a hit with everyone, available for sandwiches on site and takeout. If you’re dining in or taking out, consider the very authentic Manhattan clam chowder. Surprisingly, the other item that made Ted Peter's an institution has nothing to do with smoked fish --- it is German potato salad from a simple, yet irresistible, recipe: Idaho potatoes, bacon (and plenty of bacon grease), onions, salt, pepper and vinegar. And it's served warm, even on the hottest days of summer. You'll have no regrets.
