Thrive Restaurant Review:

Thrive fills a glowing contemporary space in Centennial Tower, one of Atlanta's downtown high-rise office buildings. Now serving in a consulting capacity, former executive chef Justin Cox keeps the restaurant in touch with local farmers. So the farm-to-table veggie plate relies on locally produced goods. Georgia strawberries team up with goat cheese for a summer salad. Crispy fried green tomatoes are accompanied by a Thousand Island sauce, and shrimp and grits draw on locally produced stone-ground grits. Georgia’s Springer Mountain birds define the fried chicken, which even turns up in a sushi roll. The sushi bar offers traditional rolls along with creations such as the spicy tuna with sesame oil. Desserts are fairly standard, such as vanilla crème brûlée. The wine list is relatively uninspired, but the local craft beers are amply supplied. Happy hour offers $5 small plates and $5 drinks Monday-Friday 5 p.m.-7 p.m. This is a good spot for post-performance or post-game repasts.
