Trattoria da Lepri Restaurant Review:

Located in an unpretentious neighborhood strip mall, Trattoria da Lepri and its executive chef/owner Frank Lepri offer a limited but tasteful French and Italian menu featuring farm-to-table fresh meats and produce. While the façade may be less than impressive, step inside and you are immediately transported to a cozy, European-style bistro, where Lepri and his wife Debbie serve guests with continental aplomb. The intimate setting features a giant chalkboard menu that changes often depending on the season and the chef’s whim. Feeling Italian? Try Lepri’s specialties including house-made pappardelle, balsamic braised short rib ravioli, sherry-glazed filet or lump crab-crusted wild salmon with porcini broth. If you prefer French, opt for beef Bourguignon with red wine pomme purée, escargots in golden puff pastry or a charcuterie tasting featuring foie gras, pâté and smoked garlic sausage. For dessert, one may encounter chocolate truffle cake, apple tart and varied crème brûlées. The wine list is reasonably priced, with Italian wines making up about 70 percent of the offerings. There is also a small reserve list and several wines by the glass available.
