![]() : Barbara Lynch has carved a studio-size space out of the South End's epicenter --- the corner of Tremont and Clarendon --- and decked it out in cheery tile, a handful of tables and a gleaming bar that hedges in the tiny open kitchen, where her proficient crew keeps the cooking simple. The sibling restaurant to No. 9 Park, The Butcher Shop, Sportello and Menton (to name just a few) focuses on seafood with different bivalves available daily. Fried faves galore (with homemade tartar sauce, of course) also abound, including Ipswich clams and calamari. Seasonal main events range from oil poached salmon to crispy whole branzino. The daily changing repertoire of oysters comes from up and down the eastern seaboard, to be paired with a selection from the wine list dominated by whites (try the Cuvee Cat made exclusively for Lynch's restaurants), both still and sparkling, by the glass. Indulge in buttermilk beignets, lemon tartlet or chocolate mousse for dessert. |
