Ba-Le has become an institution in Honolulu, great places for a light lunch or snack. Try the shrimp-filled summer rolls or a pâté sandwich on Ba-Le’s famous crunchy but soft French rolls. This is also one of the best places in the Islands for Vietnamese iced coffee-strong espresso with a big dollop of sweetened condensed milk. Every location is spic-and-span with a big display case showing exotic desserts like coconut tapioca. Service is efficient and friendly. A meal for two, with beverage, runs about $10. In a shopping complex favored by students.
