Funky downstairs bar/dining area for your intro to Balkan nibbles and sips.
BABA Restaurant Review:
The downstairs sister to Ambar, BABA (which means “grandmother” in the Balkan dialect) features a limited menu of mostly bar food and copious cocktails. So accompany your drink with pork belly sliders, prosciutto croquettes, steak tartare, crispy shrimp and more. Of course, the focus is on the libations: ales, wines and the aforementioned cocktails, with an emphasis on unusual-sounding sips, such as a Baba Sazerac. Before you leave for the evening, though, try one or both of the desserts. Why not a parsnip mousse? If you want earlier-in-the-day eats, stop by for a cup of La Colombe coffee paired with one of BABA's brunch specials, perhaps a bowl of tiramisu oatmeal or Balkan eggs.
