BACK PORCH BISTRO IS CURRENTLY SERVING A LIMITED MENU DURING A REMODEL. It's a conundrum of a restaurant---a saucy knock-off of an English country manor, with a down-home name and uptown aspirations. The inexpensive, inventive, almost multiple-personality dinner bar menu offers everything from Thai spring rolls to fruit salad with nut bread to a sirloin steak sandwich. The fine dining menu changes nightly and always includes a couple of clever, satisfying vegetarian dishes. Lest you begin to think this is a veggie's haven, though, let us make mention of the signature entrée: a hulking, 16-ounce porterhouse served one of four different ways. Order it in a pepper crust or a honey glaze---or simple and flame-broiled, just the way it might be prepared at a backyard barbecue.
