THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Baltimore Brewing Co. Restaurant Review:
Hoist a house-made brew in view of the shiny copper kettles from whence it comes for a spirited evening at this big brick beer hall of a place. Dutch owner Theo DeGroen's family brewing history harks back to the 1200s and the experience shows, especially in his malty, amber Marzen and his full-bodied and very satisfying Dark. On weekends, this converted warehouse turns cacophonous as tables fill with a broad cross-section of beer lovers. The menu rounds up a short world tour of things to consume with the house beverage, from American steamed shrimp and half-pound burgers to English fish and chips. Our recommendation: Go German. The sausage platter is excellent, especially if you ask for the velvety weisswurst. And the kassler rippchen, beauteous smoked pork chops served with sauerkraut and boiled potatoes, runs it a close second.
