THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Baobab Restaurant Review:

Many Portlanders mourned when B.J.’s Brazilian closed in 1998 to make room for Caprial’s Bistro’s expansion. The tiny, cheerful restaurant’s slow service was annoying, but the black bean soup was awesome. Now, the city’s best Brazilian food is back at Brasilia, an expanded version of the old B.J.’s. The atmosphere is still uplifting, with bright colors and happy (better trained) servers. The menu is similar to the previous one, featuring the sumptuous black bean soup as well as the popular feijoada completa, a flavorful stew of black beans, sausage and pork. Other unique dishes include mandioca frita (fried yucca) and diced okra fried with onions. It’s best to stick with the simple dishes here and avoid the overambitious, complicated ones. Vegetarians, kids and samba dancers will all find happiness here.
