Barefoot Cafe Restaurant Review:

This custard-yellow space on Fairfax’s main street always feels freshly painted, if a little spartan in terms of décor. There’s plenty of warmth in the big menu, however, where portions are generous whether you’re ordering breakfast, lunch or dinner. Many of the ingredients are organic and locally grown, and there’s a seasonal element to the multi-page menu as well. Look for Italian influences in the wide range of pastas and strong line-up of omelets, Benedicts and fat sandwiches. Coffee drinks, milkshakes and smoothies and a surprisingly comprehensive wine list round out the beverage offerings. For breakfast, we suggest the cornmeal waffle --- real maple syrup is a plus, too. Kids are welcome here, which makes sense: this is family-friendly Fairfax.
