THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bastille Kitchen Restaurant Review:
Seth Greenberg's venture --- located in the hip Fort Point district --- focuses on French-inspired comfort fare. You won't find traditional dishes, so expect the unexpected. French onion soup is made even better when topped with a sunny-side-up egg; beignets are accompanied by a side of guajillo pepper aïoli and the sweet flavor of fresh lobster tastes even richer when poached with vanilla butter. We like the dry-aged steak tartare served with a quail egg and the crisp pork belly flatbread with bacon jam. Pair them with a bottle of French wine from the reasonably priced list. Lighter fare includes horseradish-crusted salmon, New England seafood stew, and oyster and Jonah crab stuffed lemon sole. The menu also features everything from escargots in a garlic-butter sauce to pork belly/chicken liver rillettes and beef short rib Wellington made with foie gras. We recommend the pistachio crème brûlée for dessert.
