THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Baxter Station Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:
This century-old shotgun house has been a neighborhood watering hole since the time actual trains served the area as evoked by the railroad-themed décor. (Check out the electric train that circles the restaurant on a track near the ceiling.) Thirst can be slaked with selections from the bourbon list, the draft craft beer choices or the 30-wines-under-$30 offerings. Burgers, fried fish sandwiches and a raft of salads are among the casual options. The generously portioned Cajun linguine with andouille sausage will have you ordering a second pint of cooling beer. Rotating desserts are made in-house --- we suggest the cheesecakes. Breakfast service brings eggs Benedict and shrimp and grits as well as standard bacon and egg dishes.
