: Families, little league teams, tourists and bread heads go nuts over the Rocky Mountain-style, honey-sweetened pizza at these Colorado-born pie lodges. Beau loads up twin crusts --- thick or thin --- with mountain-sized portions of meats, vegetables, cheeses (including vegan) and a few oddball combinations. In addition to high-altitude pies, which can be ordered without gluten, the house turns out garlic bread, calzones, sandwiches, hot wings and a sprawling, all-you-can-eat salad bar loaded with the usual suspects and a few gold nuggets. Beau Jo’s casual, Colorado-rustic atmosphere echoes the feel of the original Beau Jo’s, located in the mountain town of Idaho Springs, which overflows with crowds, especially during the ski season. Pitchers of draft beer and pizza crusts dipped in honey for dessert complete the experience.
