THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bel Sito Ristorante Restaurant Review:
THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Chef-owner Gianni Belsito has crafted a short but well-structured menu that includes the expected Tuscan favorites, such as cantaloupe with Parma prosciutto, radicchio-artichoke salad, and veal scaloppine. Pastas are homemade. And there are a few true standouts, like the bruschetta topped with fresh mozzarella, salty prosciutto and whole anchovies; and the Tuscan bouillabaisse bobbing with chunked tomatoes, large shrimp and whole leaf spinach splashed with clam juice. For real stars, though, look to the nightly specials, such as the Dover sole or sea bream, which is ceremoniously filleted tableside. And ask for another best dish, “cavatelli and strozzapreti.” It isn’t on the menu, but Belsito is happy to oblige, pairing two folded and twisted pastas on one plate, topped respectively with porcini alongside Italian sausage, tomato, cream and wisps of black truffle.
