A classy alternative to the Indian-Pakistani-Bangladeshi Brick Lane restaurants and conveniently close to Liverpool Street, this restaurant is bright and breezy. The upstairs neon-lit bar is a good place for quick Indian snacks like tikkas and Indian street foods. The downstairs dining room is livened up with modern Bengali art on the walls. Goa features strongly in dishes like king prawn in spices wrapped in spinach and fried, and fish masala. Mains include Bengali saffron chicken or lamb with rice cooked in ghee which comes with a mixed vegetable curry; and marinated, thin sliced lamb in cream, cashew nuts and ginger. The menu boldly sweeps through the regions of India and provides a long list of well cooked dishes. The wine list is surprisingly good and the ambience is fun.
