![]() : Owner Jackie Fukuya-Merkel grew up in her parents’ restaurant, Sushi Huku. Fans of Sushi Huku, which had a long run in Atlanta, now have Bishoku, which means “beautiful dining” in Japanese. Small plates drive the menu, so you can order one after another until you call a halt to the parade of dishes. While you can get the usual rolls and tempura, we urge you to venture into the less familiar realm, and sample such preparations as candy-sweet chicken livers or the freshest grilled red snapper. The establishment even makes its own teriyaki sauce for the grilled dishes. Check out the daily specials first before deciding on your dining course, and ask what chef Yuuki Kurimaru has on tap for the day’s delights. There are some decent wines, but we think a fine tea or chilled saké is the way to go. |
