Bistango, Irvine, CA

Bistango Restaurant Review

: The Atrium Building provides a picturesque setting for this modern bistro’s contemporary food, as well as the revolving art displays. The completely redesigned space has added sleek touches like a centrally located 360 degree bar and an earth-toned color scheme that accentuates its already strong metropolitan vibe, making it an ideal oasis in the midst of the Irvine business scene. Executive chef Javier Montoya's New American cuisine smartly pushes convention through a seasonally changing menu built on notable composition and well-balanced flavor profiles. Start with the tuna tartare or the comforting garlic soup. As for a main course, order any of the Wagyu beef ravioli with black truffle and onion marmalade, a fish dish such as the honey soy-glazed New Zealand king salmon, or one of several cuts of steaks. Lunchtime possibilities are highlighted by the two-course prix-fixe menu --- apropos for busy business types. The wine list includes more than 500 labels, and there’s an extensive by-the-glass selection. Nightly entertainment and intriguing small plates in the bar keep the good times going.
