Bistro 300 Restaurant Review:

Bistro 300 is spacious in all senses of the word with the bar and lounge’s mezzanine setting overlooking the open multi-storied Hyatt Regency atrium. The stone-studded pond runs the length of the restaurant; its concrete islands with shoji screen lamps and wood sculptures would make Frank Lloyd Wright smile. The restaurant ceiling rises way up to the heavens, at least three hotel floors where fans spin and daylight floods the dining room. Bistro 300 serves hotel guests and locals alike breakfast (buffet or à la carte), lunch and dinner. Following the Hyatt’s mandate to source local, sustainable, healthy options, menus feature meat without supplemental growth hormones, cage-free eggs, lower sodium preparations and natural sweeteners. Craft cocktails, local brews and a respectable wine list don’t leave patrons high and dry. A hearty bowl of cream of crab soup with a shake of Old Bay paired with the harbor salad with baby cucumbers, sweet peppers, vine tomatoes, kalamata olives and feta cheese in basil vinaigrette can fill an average appetite --- portions are generous. Seafood abounds. We recommend the wild-caught rockfish with thyme-scented quinoa, spinach and lemon citronette. A vegan entrée of note is the curried eggplant stew with garbanzo beans and cauliflower. Feed your sweet tooth with house-made desserts of blackberry chocolate Cabernet cheesecake or salted caramel cake.
