THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Blackhawk Lodge Restaurant Review:

They reworked the great screened porch, which bummed us out a bit. We mean, a screened-in porch just two blocks from Michigan Avenue, in the heart of Chicago. How cool is that? Well, there are still screens, but now they are in windows. The whole idea was to increase the year-around seating capacity of this popular Northwoods-like American restaurant. Unfortunately there have been more chef changes here over the past several years than trees felled by Paul Bunyan, and that has not helped its stature. Regardless, if regional American cooking is your quest, this is the place. Barbecued ribs, crabcakes, hearty soups, salmon and salmon gives you a taste. It’s undoubtedly one of the homiest places to dine in Chicago when the winds of winter are whipping through the streets.
