THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Blu Coral Restaurant Review:
In-the-know suburbanites point their SUVs toward this citified sushi house for an innovative take on Japanese cuisine. The vibe is lounge-y with a bar that’s accented by deep sea-inspired panels and a dining room replete with curvaceous, intimate booths and high-backed chairs. The extensive menu is strongest when it comes to the specialty maki. We particularly like the Dragon Fest, jumbo soft-shell crab, cucumber, avocado and spicy masago mayo wrapped with freshwater eel, topped with tobiko and drizzled with chili oil and eel sauce. Entrées are generally well-wrought, too, so plan on sharing the soy-saké-ginseng-braised short rib with sweet, caramelized onion. Reversing the norm, this suburban spot spawned a city offshoot not long after opening.
