Blue Ridge Grill Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Evoking the Southeastern mountains that frame north Georgia’s landscape, Blue Ridge Grill aims to create the atmosphere of a lodge. Woods of various tones suggest rusticity but in a very sophisticated and polished manner. A reliably good lunch destination, the restaurant presents a wide-ranging, seasonally driven menu.
Food & Drinks: Grilled whole Georgia trout is moist and flavorful, and the crab cakes are full-bore crab. Salmon will come medium rare if so ordered. On a fall menu, you may find some game --- Georgia is a hunter's paradise for venison and wild boar --- and the wood-grilled meats remain popular. Vegetarians will find vegetable side dishes that are served family style, and include a corn soufflé that is a must-have dish. Dessert offers a banana bread pudding, and for figure-watchers, there’s a daily light bite. The wine list includes old-world classics and bold new-world selections, splurges and good values, and a nice array of dessert wines. Look for half bottles, too. Brunch is offered on special occasions, such as Mother’s Day and Easter.
